Basically, I don’t think a fixed, single-player campaign is going to work for Overwatch 2, if that’s what Blizzard is currently planning. On the flip side, a robust hero shooter with an emphasis on cooperative play could do phenomenally well. I’m thinking of Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, where you get to choose a type of enemy, a map, and a difficulty. After that you consciously work with your teammates to take on waves of baddies while completing a variety of objectives. It’s so simple, and yet so effective, because the moment-to-moment satisfaction is completely tied to using your abilities. I still think playing as an Asari Vanguard in Mass Effect 3 was the most fun I’ve ever had in a multiplayer game - it’s a shame BioWare isn’t bringing it back for Mass Effect: Legendary Edit
There are a few other Omnics in these same two colors; Elite Grunts, Jumpers, and Orbiters are red, while older Null Sector bots, like Nullifiers, Skirmishers, and the classic B73-NS "Bastion" units, all appear in purple. There's no clear delineation between these two colors, and the Breachers in the concept art images could be just early concepts. But it's also possible these color differences could indicate rankings or timeline jumps in Overwatch 2's narrat
You might think this is apples and oranges. You had to buy both Warcraft 2 and 3, just like you had to buy Smash Bros. Ultimate and Melee. Meanwhile, Overwatch 2 is free. You’re basically getting a new game for the price of only one game! Except, again, that doesn’t mean I only want the new game and never want to see the old one again.
After getting annoyed at Competitive, I found myself longing for those co-op events - specifically, the Archives ones where you proceed through a linear level taking on waves of enemies. I realized that, for me, the joy of Overwatch isn’t necessarily tied to competitiveness - it’s about facing reasonable challenges with people who are interested in working together, and playing a character you absolutely love the feel
While there was a ton of gameplay for the Null Sector units appearing in Overwatch 2, a few appeared only in concept art shots. One illustration shows a line of various Omnics, the largest a hulking gorilla-like bot looming over the r
This bizarre map doesn't have a ton going for it outside of the sort of self-congratulatory Blizzard themes that permeate the area. Once you've gotten past the amusing StarCraft nods and the subtle, cheeky references to The Lost Vikings , there's really not much to love about this st
Many online have speculated that this model could be part of a new playable hero coming with Overwatch 2. However, it could also be a new enemy type we haven't seen yet. Only time will tell (though no knowing when that time will b
Like many of you, I enjoyed Overwatch , a video game that I purchased with human money. In fact, because I thought Overwatch would continue to exist, I bought it on more than one platform. I’m not right in the head sometimes, so I actually believed that by purchasing a video game on a physical disc, I would get to play it for Gundam Wing crossover a while. I figured I had years to enjoy being a D-level Mercy failing to heal teammates who lowkey hated me.
Blizzcon is scheduled for February 19-20 and an update on Overwatch 2 has been promised . I really hope Jeff Kaplan and company have some good news to share, because they're going to need to give lapsed fans like myself a reason to consider coming b
Another unannounced unit shown off in concept art-form appears to be another flying drone-like unit. This oblique, tripodal Omnic made zero appearances besides one concept art image, but it looks similar to a Detona
Even when (mostly) paying people back for their purchases on Stadia, Google is still showing it barely cares about its users. Not every game will allow saves to transfer. Hell, some games specifically designed for Stadia are now in limbo. Quick reminder - the people on the ground making these games are often creative folks who just want to bring something nice to the world. I’m not criticizing the engineers who made Stadia work or the artists and designers who make Overwatch look and play brilliantly. They deserve praise and probably better pay. Which, again, is funny considering these are all greedy companies sucking in dollar bills.
Still, while details are still sketchy at best - with even a release date yet to be announced - there have already been at least a handful of neat reveals about Overwatch 2 which have us giddy. Yet, there are still many unaddressed elements and things we'd very much like to see in the game, which have yet to be touched
But it doesn’t matter. Sure, it looks as if we’re about to take the point and win the match, but then our McCree gets killed mid-Deadeye and rage quits. As soon as he leaves, xTRiCkSHOTZZ69x phones it in and it’s 6v4. We’ve gone from Manchester United to nine-year-olds who kick a ball around a waterlogged pitch on Sunday mornings. I hate
